Athleisure

Life is busy, and hectic, add a child into that equation and it gets even busier and crazier. Often the fastest outfit to get me out the door (looking decent) is athleisure. Luckily this is a huge trend right now and totally socially acceptable. For a busy working mom, this trend makes my day to day life just a bit easier.

So, I was definitely one of the last people on this planet to get on board with the athleisure trend. I mean, workout wear (tight workout wear) being worn in public??? I was skeptical. Using this new trend as an excuse to up my workout wear game, I invested in a few new pieces.  I must say, what took me so long?!?!

This trend is comfortable, and so incredibly fast and easy to throw on and get out the door. It requires very little brain power and energy on my part. Bonus, as the fabrics on these clothes are made to withstand sweat and be washed many times, they can also withstand the gooey, sticky, dirty hands of a toddler. Unlike my hand wash items, stick your tiny fingers all over my clothes little one.

My leggings are from Victoria Secret. Loving the side mesh detailing on this pair! I am a huge fan of their workout tights mainly because they are thick. I am constantly cold, so if I am not sweating it out at the gym I appreciate a thicker fabric. They are also tight, like NOTHING is going to move in these babies. Have a little extra tummy pudge (don’t we all)? No problem, pull these suckers on and tummy pudge is held in place all day long.

I opted for a basic pair of black Nikes here. These are actually from the boys section. I wear a 7 in woman’s and a 5.5 in boys.  If you fit, the boys section runs about $30 cheaper than woman’s section.  Toss on a long sleeve t-shirt, throw on a faux leather jacket and go out and tackle the world! Since I went for a all black/grey look here I opted for the leopard bag just to give a bit more interest to the look. And let’s be honest, when was a leopard print ever a bad thing to add.

Rock your athleisure wear ladies and no one even has to know you never visited the gym. 🙂 This look is perfect for running around town or hitting the gym and then brunch afterwards.
