All about skincare this week ladies. Great skin really is a two step process. It involves not only a good skincare regimen but also a good diet. I know you have all heard it before but water, water, water. And like your mother always told you, make sure to eat your fruits and vegetables. 🙂 Smoothies are an excellent way to do this, especially for all of us on the go. Toss in some chia seeds, flax seed, or any other super seed/powder out there and you’ve got yourself one awesome skin loving drink.
So, I have a confession to make. I have cheated multiple times within the past year. Admittedly I felt guilty while doing it but I simply couldn’t stop myself. When it comes to my skincare regimen (think I was talking about something else 😉 ) I am never loyal to one brand or product. I am a total slave to the newest item and the prettiest packaging. That all changed a couple months ago however when I discovered Korean skincare. Hello, my name is Rachael and I am happy to say my old habits have gone by the wayside. Currently I am madly in love and for the past 6 months I have been faithful as well. 🙂
I purchase all my skincare from Peach and Lily (Ulta is another great option). My only complaints are that the ship time can be long and when a product goes out of stock it takes a long time for it to be restocked. I can also be a little impatient as well. The Korean skincare routine consists of 10 steps. I was seriously confused by all this and had no clue what would even work with my skin (snail mucus?). Peach and Lily offers a great FREE service, where you can email them all your skincare concerns. A licensed esthetician will then email you back with a routine specifically designed for you skin. Definitely worth a try.
Since sticking with this routine, I have noticed great changes in my skin. My tone, usually very uneven, has definitely evened out. The dark spots I tend to get, I rarely get now. I also haven’t touched any acne medications. I use to slather these on my random pimples, which in turn made my skin extremely dry and only compounded my little pimple issue. I now just pat the snail serum on at night and by morning they are either gone or have drastically reduced. I also have oily skin so I was worried about the amount of moisture that I was getting through the Korean routine. Turns out my skin loves and perhaps needed it. The amount of oil my skin now produces has also drastically decreased. 🙂 Overall, I couldn’t be happier.
I highly recommend trying some Korean products. It can be expensive to invest in the routine all at once, so I just bought a product or two each month. This also allowed me to see exactly how each product was affecting my complexion before putting the whole routine together. I am now proud to say that I slather snail mucus and sheep fat on my face every night. 🙂 Let me know what you guys think and if you have any favorite Korean products!

I recommend using the sheets masks when you have some quiet, alone time (they seriously freak my family out). Open up a bottle of wine (I seem to always recommend this), a good book and let the magic go to work. 🙂
