As soon as the weather starts to get warm, I instantly want to brighten up my makeup routine. I normally stick to a matte foundation and dark lip colors during the winter months. For my Spring beauty routine I am all about lighter, brighter color and shimmer. I rounded up a few of my favorite purchase so far this month. They are a mixture of both drug store and high end products.
First lets talk about this gorgeous palette. It is the new Spring palette from Benefit and it is seriously stunning! I am in love with every shade and bonus they are all full size, so this is an amazing deal. You get two bronzers, their iconic Hoola and Hoola Light. Dandelion is a gorgeous matte pink that gives my olive skin a really soft flushed appearance. California is a gorgeous shimmery peach shade. I use it as just a blush alone, a highlight or sometimes I layer it over my other matte peachy shades. Rockateur is a stunning mauve shimmer. Again use alone for a nice glow on your cheeks or as a highlight. These shades are all very buildable depending on what type of look you want.
The Nars lip gloss shade is Orgasm, just like their most popular blush. As with the blush this shade will work well on any skin tone. Layer this gorgeous shimmery peach/orange color over another lipstick or wear it all on it’s own. It feels great on the lips and I didn’t find it to be overly sticky at all. It’s a great shade to compliment a tan and instantly makes me dream of the summer sun and a beautiful beach.
The next few products are all from the drugstore. Nude nails are having such a moment right now and I am seriously loving it. These two colors from Essie in particular have been my favorites so far. The one one the left is Wild Nude and the one on the right is Clothing Optional. Aside from using them on their own, they make great bases for a glittery gold tip. If you are good at nail art, then I would add in a grey and do a gorgeous chevron print.
Love these new lip paints from Maybelline. I am using number 20 (Orange Outburst) and 15 (Fight Me Fuschia). The color payoff is amazing and they stay on a surprisingly long time. They are a cross between a gloss and a liquid lipstick. These go on wet and stay wet, which gives them the appearance of a gloss. The color payoff however is that of a liquid lipstick. I seriously haven’t been this impressed with a drugstore lip product in a long time. And the little paint tube packaging….so cute! My only complaint is that they aren’t bigger! lol
I’ve also found some really great skincare and hair care products that I will adding into my Spring routine. I’ll get a post up about those soon! Let me know if you ladies have any favorites, I’m always looking for new products to try. 🙂
Here are a few more of my favorites, happy shopping!
